Our founder, Lisa Pevateaux went to an overnight summer camp as a teen and has memories that have lasted her lifetime. She knew she wanted to create the same experience for as many children as she could through her love of dance in her beautiful Rocky Mountain backyard.

We are nothing without relationships. At Camp Telaphiba, relationships matter. We limit the size of camp to ensure that every person at camp is seen, known and understood. We help campers develop friendships to build their community outside of their homes and communities they live in. We want kids to be kids and to enjoy feeling like they have a home away from home where they can develop loyalty to others that they didn’t know before but can visit year after year to strengthen those bonds.
We encourage our staff and campers in every way that we can in order for them to have ultimate happiness during their experiences with us at Camp Telaphiba. We have kind hearts and want to share wonderful experiences with each other and our campers. We are over the moon about what we do at camp and how we do it so we love sharing that with excitement.
Camp Telaphiba was started because of dance but we are not just interested in teaching dance. We are focused on inspiring our campers to do great things and to be great people through our life development workshops as well. Our mentorship efforts in life-skills means just as much as our great dance instruction does. We want to have campers go back home to positively affect all of those around them through everything they learned at camp, inside and outside of their dance classes.
Every touchpoint and experience at Camp Telaphiba is created, developed and delivered with nothing but excellence and integrity as the baseline.
We believe in finding new ways to do what we love to do to the best of our ability. Dance is creative and ever-changing and so is how children learn. It is important to us to strive to be diverse in our methods and to provide variety in our offerings at camp. Our staff is hired only if they are open and excited about change and always trained with the latest techniques to be their very best at Camp, year after year.
Our hope is that everyone who is part of Camp Telaphiba builds dance and life skills and increases their understanding of themselves, their peers, their community and the world they live in from coming to Camp.
